Tell us how you guys met:
“We met through her sorority “big” Kelly Querry. I (Kyle) had known Kelly for a couple of years because we were both education majors. I noticed Emily my
junior year around Christmas time. Over the break I texted Kelly and she gave me Emily’s number. So around New Years I finally texted Emily. We talked occasionally the rest of break. We didn’t actually meet in person until one day I finally had the chance to talk to her alone in our cafeteria at school. After that we would occasionally hang out but most of the interaction was via the cell phone. This stayed this way until after spring break. Things became serious after that, and the rest as they say is history. “- Kyle

Spill the beans, how did he propose??
“Kyle proposed to me at my mom’s house in Indiana, PA. We were home visiting over a weekend for my grandpa’s 80th birthday. We had dinner with my mom and stepdad, Dan, and were getting ready to go out for ice cream. Kyle asked if him and I could take our puppy, Callie, for a walk when we got back…so of course I said yes. When we got home from getting ice cream we were about to leave for the walk when my stepdad decided that he would go with us and take his dogs. (Dan had no idea that Kyle was PLANNING on proposing while him and I were on our walk…so he ruined Kyle’s first plan). So we went on our walk and when we got back to the house Kyle tried to get me to hang around outside on the back porch… but Dan decided he wanted to bring the other dogs out to play with Callie…so again, he ruined Kyle’s second plan to propose. Finally Dan went inside and Kyle took advantage of the short moment alone to ask me to marry him. It all made sense why he’d seemed so nervous for the past couple hours! He was so cute! Then I walked inside to share the news with my mom and stepdad, of course I was crying and holding my hand out. The first thing my mom says is “did the dog bite you?!?” All in all it ended up being a pretty humorous night but it’s a great story and it was perfect for us!”-Emily

Who said “I love you” first?
“So funny story. I (Emily) said “I love you” first. I already knew it before I actually said it, but it just happened to come out at a slightly embarrassing time. I was home in PA celebrating a friend’s 21st birthday at IUP, and in the nature of 21st birthdays I was a little bit intoxicated. I was on the phone with Kyle while my friends and I were walking back to where we were staying that night. I was siting in my friend’s apartment complex yard and told Kyle that I loved him. Everyone asks if I remember saying it and I totally do! It’s just a little funny that it came out then. I guess it’s true that drunken words are sober thoughts!!”-Emily
“We enjoy the best of both worlds. We love going out to eat and going shopping or to the movies. But we can also have a perfect day going to Kyle’s family’s farm or to some trails and spending the day outside just taking everything in together. That’s something we’ve learned from each other I think. I have learned to appreciate the outdoors more and Kyle has started to like shopping more ;)”- Emily
“our personalities coincide so well. We have a unique ability to learn from one another. We read each other very well, especially if one of us is upset. We give and we take very well with one another. With all that being said, the biggest reason we are so perfect together is because we trust each other. I (Kyle) have never felt this with anyone before. Our relationship is just like breathing. We have a lot of faith in one another and it is very evident when you spend time with us.”- Kyle
“We’d like to think that our relationships in 20 years will be a lot like it is now… we’ll just be older and probably raising teenagers (that’s a scary thought). I think we’ll always be kids at heart. I think 20 years from now we will still make hot dogs and mac and cheese for dinner every now and then when we don’t feel like “real cooking.” We’re so genuinely excited to start our family and I think once we have the family that we’ve been dreaming about our relationship is going to grow even stronger.”- Emily
“The very first time that I took Kyle home with me was over our Thanksgiving break in college. We were on our way back to Ohio from our trip. It had been raining and Kyle took an exit ramp a tad bit too fast and we ended up doing a complete 180 and stopped rear-end in a ditch…stuck. Some nice people stopped to try and help push us out of this ditch. Kyle and these people made a few attempts to push us out while I sat in the driver’s seat and hit the gas. After they couldn’t push us out of the ditch the kind strangers left and we waited for help. Right after the other people left I realized that the whole time they were pushing the car I had been hitting the gas but the car was in park. I didn’t have the courage to tell Kyle about it until we were a few miles down the road after getting towed out of the ditch! Talk about embarrassing! We laugh so hard about it now though!”- Emily
