2022 Weddings -That’s a wrap!

By December 29, 2022 No Comments

It felt good to get back into a “normal” routine with weddings after surviving a pandemic and the year after -which was pretty much playing catch up from the whole “vid”. But this year felt somewhat normal and it was great to see people gathering and celebrating like old times! It made my heart happy!

I photographed weddings out of state like Vegas and Delaware, in cities like Pittsburgh in gorgeous historical buildings and small towns in venues like barns. I shot brides and grooms in the blistering heat, in several feet of snow, during windchills below zero, in the rain and in the most gorgeous fall leaves…..and every single one of them were so different and gorgeous in their own way.

I work with ALL types of personalities, different family dynamics and a million other restrictions to make things happen. I often joke that being a photographer is equal parts knowing how to work the camera and understand light, being able to entertain people and being able to solve all kinds of problems on the spot. The days are NEVER the same and usually end up being 12-14 hours, you carry 30-40lbs of additional weight in lenses, go long periods without eating/drinking or going to the bathroom and you have to be able to handle large groups of drunk wedding party members! haha! You have to be “pleasantly pushy” to keep things on track, work consistently with other vendors including the “mean church coordinator ladies” and pushy Mother In Laws (tee he he).

I’m so honored to be able to do what I love and have a job where my face hurts from smiling just as bad as my feet hurt at the end of the day. I get a front row seat into the happiest days of people’s lives and people trust me with moments they can’t re-do. I’m thankful that clients have become friends and who send me home with wedding cookies every Saturday! haha!  I manifested this job….and I’m thankful for it every single day.

2022 Brides-THANK YOU!
