Generations in Focus

As the new year begins, I have been doing a lot of manifesting and writing out the 2024 goals I’d like to professionally achieve. Some of you know, I’ve been a photographer for well over 22 years. I’ve photographed all kinds of sessions, I’ve worked with thousands of people-probably hundreds of thousands of people at this point. I’ve been around the block enough times that I’ve watched high school seniors become wives, and wives become moms and moms become grandparents. I’ve figured out what types of sessions I’m good at and which ones I’m terrible at and the ones that feed my soul. You know, the meaningful ones. The kind of the sessions I walk away from and think to myself:  “THIS is why I picked up my camera in the first place.”

Social media gives us all this false reality. The kind of reality that your life has to be curated and aesthetic although everyone knows that is not real life.  But you and I, well, we’re cut from a different cloth.  We’re sentimental with our emotions, we’re purposeful in our purchases, we treasure relationships with friends and family. We care less about “the things” and more about experiences with “the people” we love.

That’s what I want to create. An experience with the people you love. A session that will be so valuable you’ll look back and forever be so grateful you carved out the time to create them! I want you to have an heirloom album for your Great-Great Grandchildren to flip thru -with images that won’t change even if the people in them do. I’m working on ways to incorporate a video component and moving pictures into my sessions-something I’m so excited to share more about later.

Maybe it’s a generational studio session where you all come in, share a bottle of wine, laugh, hang out and get beautiful images created of yourselves and all the combinations of people.  Maybe we go to a location that means something or has a family story. Maybe it’s going to your home to create images with your belongings in the background. Maybe we go to the place he proposed. Maybe we include an activity your family loves to do together. Whatever it looks like for you, I want them to be meaningful. Pictures with a Purpose, the kind that feels like a big giant hug.

Time is passing and we are all only getting older, our loved ones are aging and our kids are growing up before our eyes….  I would LOVE to chat with you about how we can make a session meaningful for you! I want to do more of what feeds my soul!
